Lower Body Blast --- Squat/Hip Extension

 

This killer lower body exercise works quads, hamstrings, glutes and outer/inner thigh muscles.  Additionally it will push your heart rate up giving you more bang for your buck as you blast fat and tone your lower body.
Grab a resistance tube and stand on it with your feet shoulder width apart.  Pull the tube handles up to shoulder level for added resistance.  Squat deep and as you come up out of the squat press your right leg out to the side (squeeze hip/glutes) until you feel resistance from the tube, and then go right back into the squat. Repeat 12 times then switch legs.  Do 3 sets.  Remember to inhale/exhale during each phase of this exercise.... Muscles need oxygen to work efficiently!
